Services for young offenders

Proposals were presented at the Integrated Children’s Services Project Board on 7 December 2007 around arrangements to create a more integrated and effective approach to prevention and early intervention to reduce the number of children and young people who become involved in crime and anti social behaviour.

The Board agreed the following proposals for further development with stakeholders:

  • YOT preventative services including Youth Inclusion and Support Panels (Amber programme), Youth Inclusion Projects, Anti Social Behaviour and Restorative Justice Services would be integrated with area working arrangements. See Area Based Working for more details
  • The remaining functions would comprise of an enhanced Courts and Community team incorporating reparation, accommodation, referral order panels and volunteers, reprimands and final warnings. This part of the service will be manages as part of the Children and Families service. See Social Work Services for more details
