Gateshead Children and Young People's Partnership

Young girl holding a footballGateshead Children and Young People’s Partnership fulfils two main functions.

  • To meet the requirements of the Children Act 2004 that agencies must co-operate to improve the well-being of all children and young people.
  • To act as a theme partnership for children and young people within Gateshead Strategic Partnership’s family of partnerships.

The role of the partnership is to:

  • Recommend to Gateshead Strategic Partnership the strategic priorities for children and young people’s services
  • Advise on the content of the Children and Young People’s Plan and monitor delivery
  • Promote issues relating to children and young people in Gateshead
  • Consult and engage with children and young people in Gateshead
  • Review the partnerships and working groups that currently operate and agree improved governance arrangements

The Children and Young People’s Partnership operates within the framework of a Partnership Agreement (46k Word Document).

The Partnership is supported by the Improve Wellbeing Board and the Local Safeguarding Children Board
