Gateshead Children and Young People’s Partnership fulfils two main functions.
- To meet the requirements of the Children Act 2004 that agencies must co-operate to improve the well-being of all children and young people.
- To act as a theme partnership for children and young people within Gateshead Strategic Partnership’s family of partnerships.
The role of the partnership is to:
- Recommend to Gateshead Strategic Partnership the strategic priorities for children and young people’s services
- Advise on the content of the Children and Young People’s Plan and monitor delivery
- Promote issues relating to children and young people in Gateshead
- Consult and engage with children and young people in Gateshead
- Review the partnerships and working groups that currently operate and agree improved governance arrangements
