As a practitioner working closely with children and families in Gateshead, you understand their needs better than anyone. You also recognise where additional help and support – over and above that already provided – could make a big difference to their lives.
To help you provide these additional tailored services, you can apply for money through the Personalisation Fund (previously Early Intervention Fund). The fund is available until March 2011. The purpose of the fund is to support quick and flexible responses to the needs of children, young people and their families. In this way, services can be developed and accessed that respond to a family’s needs, rather than families having to fit in with current service provision. Personalisation is about providing greater choice to help them identify solutions.
Types of services may include, but are not limited to:
Before you apply for funding, you need to have undertaken the Common Assessment Framework process for the child, young person or family and have a support plan in place. A funding application can then be submitted that links to the plan for the services or goods that are tailored to the individual’s needs.
The funding application form and further guidance is available from the downloads section of the website.
