Joint Strategy and Commissioning

Young People smilingTo deliver joined up services in Gateshead that can best respond to the needs of children, young people and families, we require an integrated approach to planning and commissioning.

The Children and Young People’s Plan sets out Gateshead strategy for all children and young people in Gateshead and is reviewed on an annual basis to ensure our priorities remain consistent with need.

Our Joint Commissioning Strategy sets out the strategic intention for the commissioning of services in response to the priorities set in the Children and Young People’s Plan.

In the future more and more of our work will be delivered through our Local Area Agreement which provides freedoms and flexibilities with aligned budgets to respond to the priorities in the Children and Young People’s Plan.

To ensure we are responding to the needs of children, young people and families we consider that involving children and young people in decisions about the design and delivery of services it vital.
